Here's all of the information you couldn't find elsewhere:

Before pursuing my Ph.D, I was a Teach for America Corps Member in Washington, DC, and taught 9th- and 11th-grade English Literature. After leaving the classroom, I spent three years working in education reform, serving as the Director of Communications for two different organizations: the Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options (HCREO) and the Hispanic College Fund (HCF). These experiences continue to inform my life in many ways, and my academic research is an extension of my commitment to racial justice in education.
